Additional information for becoming a Home Inspector in Florida

To secure your home inspector license in Florida, you must complete the following steps:
 
  1. Complete 120 hours of approved Florida Home Inspection Education.

  3. Complete and pass one of the following exams:

    1. The National Home Inspector Exam (NHIE).
    2.  
    3. The Florida Association of Building Inspectors (FABI) Exam.
    4.  
    5. InterNACHI Florida Home Inspector Licensing Examination.
    6.  
    7. Association of Construction Industry’s Certified Home & Property Inspector Examination (CI-HPI).
  5. Applicant must provide fingerprints and pass background check.

  7. Applicant must posses General Liability insurance with a minimum amount of at least $300,000.
  8.  
  9. Applicant must submit their application and pay the initial $125 application fee.
