The objective of the course, Inspection Protocols for Irrigation and Pool-Spa Systems (TREC #53507), is to teach inspectors the routines of operating and inspecting pool/spa and irrigation systems. Participants will learn the best practices of operating the systems in normal modes across a variety of manufacturers’ controls, while also learning how to inspect the systems without damaging them. Throughout the course’s sections, participants will gain competence in identifying common deficiencies and conditions for further evaluation.

The objective of the course, Formulating a Foundation Performance Opinion (TREC #52981), is to help licensed home inspectors formulate required opinions on foundation performance. Inspectors will gain competence in how to inspect various types of foundations, distinguish between common deficiencies and visual signs of adverse performance, and effectively communicate both written reports and oral presentations regarding foundation performance findings to clients. In addition, inspectors will gain an appropriate understanding of the proper use and application of specialized equipment such as altimeters to confirm findings in relation to the TREC Standards of Practice.

The objective of this course, Performing Phase Inspections (TREC #50855: 4 ICE Hours), is to teach inspectors the best practices, common deficiencies and documentation of deficiencies when inspecting residential pre-pour and pre-drywall construction.
Participants will learn best practices of inspecting pre-pour construction; including proper site preparation, purpose of reinforcing steel and plumbing, electrical and ventilation rough-ins. They will also learn the best practices of inspecting pre-drywall construction; including Roof Coverings, Attic, Ceiling and Floor Joist construction, Interior and Exterior Doors, Walls Windows and Stairways, Plumbing, Electrical, Ventilation Rough-ins and how to inspect the major mechanical systems that may be installed in a pre-drywall constructed home. They will also gain competence in identifying common deficiencies and conditions for recommending further evaluation. Upon completion the inspectors should be equipped with the knowledge on how to perform a thorough and high-level inspection of pre-pour and pre-drywall construction homes.

In addition, inspectors will explore the business and liability ramifications of performing sewer camera inspections to grow their inspection business and better serve the community at large.
